29 July 2024, CANBERRA - The Philippine Embassy in Canberra extends its warmest congratulations to Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC who was sworn in as the 28th Governor-General of Australia on 01 July 2024.

Philippine Ambassador to Australia H.E. Ma. Hellen De La Vega attended the diplomatic reception hosted by Her Excellency the Governor-General on 23 July 2024 in Government House where she delivered remarks in her role as the Acting Dean of the Diplomatic Corps.

Ambassador De La Vega highlighted the remarkable achievements of Her Excellency the Governor-General, noting her strong advocacy for gender equality and climate action. The Ambassador also extended her best wishes for a successful and rewarding term.

Her Excellency is the second female in the history of Australia to hold the position of Governor-General. - END
