Assistance to Nationals

01 July 2026, CANBERRA - The Philippine Embassy in Canberra informs the Filipino communities in the Republic of Nauru, Tuvalu, and the Republic of Vanuatu that responsibility for Philippine diplomatic relations and consular services in their respective countries has been transferred to the Philippine Embassy in Suva, Fiji, effective 17 June 2026.

Please be advised that Consular Functions such as Assistance to Distressed Filipinos, Passport Services, Consular Notarization, Civil Registration (Reports of Birth, Marriage, and Death), Visa Services, Dual Citizenship under Republic Act 9225 and related matters are to be filed and submitted with the Philippine Embassy in Suva Fiji.

What is ATN?

Consular service is the third pillar of Philippine foreign policy. Pursuant to the Philippine Foreign Service Act of 1991 and the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act, as amended, the Department of Foreign Affairs is mandated to formulate and implement policies and programs to promote and protect the rights and welfare of Filipino migrants, and provide assistance to overseas Filipinos in distress.
