22 March, ADELAIDE – Philippine Ambassador to Australia Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega called on Her Excellency Frances Adamson, Governor of South Australia, and discussed emerging opportunities in the relationship of the Philippines with the State at Government House in Adelaide on 21 March.

The Governor called the Philippines an important partner of Australia and committed to do what she can to ensure that South Australia contributes to the advancement of the partnership of the Philippines and South Australia. The Ambassador thanked the Governor for her significant contribution to the strength of the bilateral relations of the two countries during her time as Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The two officials also discussed the shared history of the Philippines and Australia and the key role played by the State of South Australia in forging historic bonds. They underscored the importance of preserving regional peace and security and the pursuit of joint initiatives to address emerging challenges and provide better opportunities. -- END
