20 February 2025, NAURU – The Filipino Community in Nauru (FCN) welcomed its newly elected officers in an oath-taking ceremony on 15 February 2025 in Baitsi, Nauru. The event reaffirmed the Filipino community’s commitment to unity, service, and the promotion of the unique cultural values and heritage in Nauru.

Hon. Lionel Aingimea, Minister of Justice and Border Control, administered the oath to the new officers, led by FCN President Christopher Manaog. In his remarks, Minister Aingimea emphasized the long-standing ties between Nauru and the Philippines and expressed confidence in FCN’s leadership.

The newly-elected FCN officers pledged to strengthen community ties, uphold Filipino traditions, and support fellow Filipinos in Nauru and to continue the organization's dedication to empowering its members and fostering positive engagement with Nauruan society.

The Philippines and Nauru celebrated 59 years of diplomatic relations on 19 February 2025. There are approximately 378 Filipinos and Nauruans of Filipino descent. END
