Ambassador De La Vega Commemorates the 161st Anniversary of the Birth of Dr. Jose P. Rizal in Campbelltown

20 June 2022, CANBERRA – Philippine Ambassador to Australia Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega joined Campbelltown City officials and the Filipino community in commemorating the 161st Anniversary of the birth of Dr. Jose P. Rizal on 19 June 2022 at Rizal Park in Campbelltown, New South Wales.

In the triple celebration named “Harmony of History”, the Campbelltown Council in collaboration with the Campbelltown and Region Filipino Community Council and the Rizal Park Movement of Campbelltown also commemorated the 124th Anniversary of Philippine Independence and the 76th Anniversary of Philippine – Australia diplomatic relations.

During the program, the participants were reminded of the value of freedom and the sacrifices and ideals of Dr. Jose P. Rizal.

Also joining the ceremony were Campbelltown Deputy Mayor Councillor Warren Morrison, Councillor Rey Manoto, Councillor Masood Chowdhury, Mr. Greg Warren MP, Member for Campbelltown, and Dr. Mike Freelander MP, Federal Member for Macarthur. END
